When the Enemy Whispers
This past Sunday we had a bunch of visitors in church. Mine is a Spirit-filled church in Delray Beach and we don’t try to hide it. As soon as you get a little embarrassed by God He will surely not do anything to embarrass you. I want God to do whatever He wants in our services.
About three quarters the way through worship I started to get some some visions and a couple words for people. That’s when it happened.
I immediately began to wonder what the visitors might think. I got a little concerned that those in the room that don’t know God might be uncomfortable with spiritual things happening. I began to wonder if I should share these things privately with people after service.
Because of these concerns as soon as I started my time behind the pulpit Sunday morning I began to share the visions and revelations with the body. Why? As soon as you give that demon of fear an inch of room, he will have you throw God out of the service and put that devil of logic a prominent position. Before you know it you won’t look any different than the cessationist church down the road except for a little louder music and jeans.
Hey preacher, quit hiding God from the people who need Him the most, the lost.
Once and for all you have to decide if the seeker need to seek God or you. Make that decision then you can structure your service around making that person known. Sadly, too many churches say they answer the question one way but their services (and multiple campuses) point another.
As for The Mission, we are going to stay radical and on fire for the living God. He has seemed to honored our faith thus far.

I like this pastor. This reminds me of the time in worship when freedom just came into the room and all of a sudden people began to just worship God with reckless abandon. Its similar to your situation this sunday cause you were talking about how if the devil comes and tries to make you feel self-conscious and embarassed then thats when you dance and worship even harder, cause if you let that one little lie of the devil get to you, then it’ll ruin you. Service and the baptism was really good by the way.
