Thoughts on Godly Marriage

Thoughts on a godly marriage out of 1 Cor 7

  1. A Godly Marriage is a Source of Pleasure
You need to reject the lie that marriage is a source of strife. There is no replacement for the companionship of a marriage.
  2. A Godly Marriage Resists the Attack of the Devil
Resist the urge to ignore the issues in your marriage. The devil wants to steal the desire for intimacy so he can come in through that open door. Your marriage is your first ministry. Keep it tight.
  3. A Godly Marriage is a Place of Service
Wives are to submit to their husbands as unto the Lord because the husbands are supposed to love their wives as Christ loved the church. Fellas, don’t ever quote this Scripture unless you are laying down your life for your wife.
  4. A Godly Marriage is a Covenant
You are going to enter into two covenants in this lifetime. The first is with God through His sacrifice on the cross, thus becoming part of his Body. The second through your marriage commitment making husband and wife one flesh. It’s a big deal. It is supposed to be.
