Thoughts on Criticism from Jentzen Franklin

December 9, 2008 at 9:01 am Posted in Discipleship

I get lots of criticism.  That’s kind of the cost of not following the pack.  Funny thing, I have never heard criticism about me being spoken behind my back from anyone I respect.  I have been confronted with things by people I respect, but I have never heard things from people I respect second hand.

Today I heard Jentzen Franklin say this.

Criticism is the death gargle of the non-achievers.  Most of the people who criticize you are not doing more than you but people who are doing a lot less and they are jealous.

Wow!  Jentzen Franklin is the man!

Of course you realize by that logic, critics of Joseph Smith, Charles Russell, etc., should shut up and stop being “jealous”.

Its all about context. He was speaking to Brian Houston at Hillsong Church.

If we have criticism with the motive of reproof for sake of edifiying than we are washing one another. It is not finding fault but loving. We need to search our motives. When we recognize our own hearts we will be able to see if others have anything to be jealous about. It’s all about God’s glory! After his fire all that will remain is the Word,is it abiding in you?
