Thoughts from the End of the Day

Here are some random thoughts from the end of another long day.
- Good day at The Mission Delray. Because we could not set up at the normal time this week, we did not have our full setup crew. But you would not have known about it by looking at the service. Folks just got it all done. We have great volunteers at The Mission.
- I need someone to tell me who brought me coffee and cookies in my study room before service. You are going to be my new assistant! Seriously.
- We make some really good coffee. Generation Church in Jupiter gave us their coffee setup when they got their new location and I am loving it.
- Some days you preach well and other days you wonder if you communicated anything worth remembering. I felt like today God gave me a message that was worth grabbing a hold of.
- If you feel called to preach, press on till you get into your call. There is no feeling like delivering a message that you are fairly confident came from God, delivering it well, and then seeing people make a decision to follow Jesus at the end. When you see that happen you begin to understand how God will use any willing vessel to get His purposes accomplished. Makes it pretty easy to not take credit for what God has done.
- On the other hand, there may be no worse feeling than standing in front of a large group of people while you are completely unable to connect with them and are wasting everyone’s time. It’s almost like you just want to say, “You know what folks. Lets just stop, pack everything up, go to the Chinese buffet for lunch, and act like we never started a church.
- Actually, its funny to think how many times I asked Tracey if we could just act like we never started a church and move to another country.
- She always tells me we can’t afford to move to another country.
- Ministry is hard work. Starting a ministry is even harder whether it is a church, college ministry, or outreach. It really does not matter. Gaining spiritual momentum is not easy and has to be done with prayer, fasting, and a whole lot of work.
- We have been messing around with having the offering at the end of service. Not sure I like it.
- Ever see someone you love who has invited a demon into their life? Just plain gross.
- Sin makes you ugly.
- If someone finds your sin attractive, run!
- 7 days till Easter. Its really gonna be good! Invite your friends.
- Going on a little Spring Break vacation with the fam in the middle of the week. Gotta get work done tomorrow.
- Peace
