What I Am Currently Reading

I have just finished abunch of books that I should probably write reviews for but for right now I will list a few of the books I am reading right now.  I tend to read in groups.  So the subjects here are varried:

• F.F. Bosworth: Christ the Healer Been chewing this one for a while now.

• Collins and Porras: Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies Not as germane to the church since we already have a great vision but a good read.  Important things to think about when launching a church.

• Brynmor Jones An Instrument of Revival: The Complete Life of Evan Roberts, 1878-1951 Haven’t gotten too far into this yet but I have learned one thing, Evan Roberts encountered God early and was not ashamed of it.

• Franklin Hall Atomic power with God through fasting and prayer Let me tell you a secret.  I hate to fast.  I fast, but I hate it.  Yet and still that does not mean I can skip this vital spiritual discipline.

My Current Reading List

I am a reader.  I read lots of stuff.  I don’t only read the things I agree with, I read about subjects I am interested in.  Here is what I am reading right now:

Visioneering: God’s Blueprint for Developing and Maintaining Vision (Paperback) Andy Stanley Everyone said I had to read this. Most Christian books are just transcribed sermons. Andy Stanley is clearly a writer. I have only started but wow.

2000 Years of Charismatic Christianity An Overview.  I am a student of the second great awakening and this had some good info on that.  Not quite done but a good read.

White Cane Religion: And Other Messages from the Brownsville Revival Stephen Hill  Say what you want about Brownsville, Steve Hill can preach a message.  The title message is a classic.  Another book I have only started.

Keys to Heaven’s Economy: An Angelic Visitation from the Minister of Finance Shawn Boltz I have only read the first couple chapters so far.  Wild read.

My Current Reading List

I don’t know what my problem is but I tend to read books en mass.  I rarely get a book and read it from cover to cover.  I read a group of books at any one time.  I don’t know why, it’s just what I do.

Here are a few of the books I am currently working through:

Lightning Bolts from Pentecostal Skies – M. W. Knapp
this book was published in 1898.  The writing style is a little annoying but it is awesome how people were experiencing the baptism in the Holy Ghost well before what we consider the beginning of the Pentecostal movement.

John G. Lake: His Life, His Sermons, His Boldness of Faith
This is a collection of his sermons and a collection of healing testimonies. This dude was radical!

If He Build It, They Will Come: Greg Holmes
I got this from Tom Scarrella. This book is confirming so much of what I have been feeling. I plan to do a full review when I am done.

The Audacity of Hope Barak Obama
I have the audio book. We have a President that has authored some books. Makes sense to read (or in this case listen to) them to see him in his own words.

Next:

I am not sure what I am going to read next.  I have at least one hundred books I have not read yet, but I am always looking on eBay for old revival books.

Any suggestions?
