Pour Down from the Skies – Steve Gray

July 7, 2009 at 8:55 am Posted in Misc

I recently read Pour Down From The Skies by Steve Grey.  I have a bunch of books I have wanted to review but have not had time to write up yet.  Hopefully I will catch up.

For those who are unfamiliar with the revivals of the mid ’90s, Toronto sparked Brownsville which sparked Smithton.  Each was a move of God.  Each was different.

This book was written by the pastor of the Smithton Outpouring, Steve Gray.  The book seems to have been self published at least initially because at times it does not read like a professionally edited book.  At times this makes the book difficult to read.

But if you press on you are richly rewarded.

There is a scene that is told when an elder is convicted while Steve is away at Brownsville.  While reading it, I felt the wind of the Holy Spirit blow in my face.  I was overcome by His presence and could only weep for the next hour.  I am not saying that will happen to you but it did to me.

I don’t read books about revival to complete a thesis.  I read books about revival to have my faith stirred and to shake off complacency.  This book will definitely do that for you.

It depends on what kind of book he likes. It is pretty goo though. I always recommend Good Morning Holy Spirit by Benny Hinn. It will rock your world. I have a link to it on my resource page.
