Obedience to the Word of the Lord
I get asked often about how one comes into their ministry call and how to operate in giftings. If you feel called this is actually a pretty good question to ask. The answer is not as exciting as people expect.
Obey God.
I don’t know why this is a stumper for so many folks who “feel called” but far to often it is. And that is all the more reason why people do not come into their ministries.
If I had to hire a new employee I would look for the person who would do what I told them to do exactly the way I told them to do it. I would want them to do it the first time I asked. I would want them to do it with a spirit of excellence. I would want them to only work for me and not be looking for something better or complaining that they could not do something else because they are working for me.
When the Holy Ghost speaks that you are to be “sanctified for the work of the ministry” you are now a full-time employee of God. Think about that. If you are called to the ministry, right now you are on your job interview. How are you doing?
There was a little story in the OT about a dude who decided to make his own rules on the job. God said to him:
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,
He also has rejected you from being king.
Do you want to go into ministry? Spend lots of your prayer time asking God to make you an obedient son or daughter. The process may be painful but the fruit is glorious.

OK, that’s just so true and so awesome. Making an excellent point.
