Monday Morning Musings – Hard to Talk Edition

I was out of town for setup and when I got to church Sunday morning you would not have known it.  The place was set up perfectly.

Tracey and I were talking about this phenomenon.  At one point nothing got done that we did not directly lead or initiate.  Now there are people who lead teams better than if we were leading them.  It is a phase you work toward but, at least for me, you are never really prepared for.  Needless to say we are truly blessed by the capable leaders the Lord has brought to The Mission.

Can’t wait to see who else He adds.

Because of the anointing in our church, people come, get activated, and want to minister in their call.  This has always been the case even from the very beginning.  But in the Kingdom the way up is down.  Folks who don’t want to serve can’t lead.  Surprises me how many people who consider themselves mature in the Lord think that we stumbled into where we are and God has sent them to help lead but not serve.

This phenomenon that happens time and again confounds the people of The Mission who know no other church then this. To them, it makes perfect sense that God is calling everyone to serve the people of the church and the idea of being too good or mature to serve is completely foreign.  It is part of my call to make sure it stays foreign.  Because of that the Lord is raising up leaders and I love it.

I don’t care if you are a visitor or the Bishop of Florida, there is a place of service in this church.

Worship was amazing.  Lillian lead with Donnie Williams and Khamille singing backup.  At one point they all sang and I tasted a little bit of heaven.

I was worried for a minute that Ron would tell me that I did not need to worry about bringing a message because he had something to share.  He got filled up with the Holy Ghost this week and he was looking for an outlet.  I had to let him know that my pulpit was not the place.

Love that guy.

I preached a message that I think was pretty amazing.  I don’t know how well I communicated that message but what God told me to preach was amazing.

Yesterday was one of the rare times the anointing was so heavy that it was almost difficult to preach.  That almost never happens to me.  I am called to preach.  The heavy presence of God makes me preach better, not incapacitate me.  (Except that time I had to do communion laid out on my back, but that’s a different story)

Altar time was pretty amazing.

Had some Cuban food after.

Meant to go to bed early but of course that did not happen.

Pics are up! Podcast to follow I am sure. Videos should be up by mid day tomorrow.
