Learning From Leaders

December 13, 2008 at 7:13 pm Posted in Discipleship

I have come to realize that we are constantly preparing for what God has for us. Part of my leadership development comes from following what other leaders in the Body of Christ are hearing.  Some people act surprised at the books I read and the people I look up to.  I have come to the place where I respect every man attempting great things for Jesus.

Here are a few things I have come across the last week or so that I thought were significant:

Perry Noble:  Kissing Toilets Get ready for a gut check.

Just wondering…kissing any toilets? Anything in your life that you know God doesn’t approve of…you refuse to repent…and you are going to come to church this Sunday and pretend that eveything is okay with you & God?

Craig Groeschel: He has a blog series titled “Successful Ministry.” In this second installment he lists some of what he considers successful ministry traits.

Steven Furtick: If you think something good. I try to live this way.

Gary Lamb: Lists “Two Types” of churches

  • Those who are consumed with doing church in a cool way
  • Those who are consumed with doing church that reaches lost people

Jason Salaman pointed out a quote in a book by John Piper,

The critical question for our generation—and for every generation—
is this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the
friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and
all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties
you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no
human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with
heaven, if Christ were not there?
