Confused (non)Christians – Obama and the Political Spirit
I think America is seeing the culmination of the political agenda taking over much of the church.
The President is declared not saved and should be disregarded as a man because of his liberal politics. Some ministers have even stated that Christians should rally for his demise.
Meanwhile, a politically conservative Mormon held a political rally at the nation’s capital this past weekend and the Christians lined up to “reclaim America.” Reclaim America for what? Moroni? One can only imagine the prayer vigil in Salt Lake City during the event.
I find it amazing that people can attack their political leader, who is a Christian, and still think that they are Christians. Wake up folks. This is the plan of the devil. Jesus said you would know His people by the love they show one another. Not their political registration.
Do you hate President Obama’s politics? Shout it from the rooftop. Support his opponents. Call Congress. Campaign in the next election. All these things are your right as Americans and your duty to your conscience.
But to say that Jesus did not save him even though he has testified to his conversion and baptism? That’s sin. To say Jesus hates him? That’s blasphemy.
Repent.

Politics is just governing. Civil governments need politics. That is how people come to consensus. Basing decisions on something other than the common good is where the uncleaness comes in and in fact can be witchcraft. Taken far enough we can violate the Scriptures and think we are pleasing Jesus and bettering society. Delusion indeed.

Your right! Its important for christians to be involved in politics; its of even greater importance though, for them to demonstrate Christ to the world in a proper way!

I’ve been trying to find a balanced biblical perspective from at least one leader…I had not been able to do so until I read this post. As always, your points are valid, integrous, balanced and most of all biblically sound. Thanks for shedding light on this horribly divisive issue.

Amen Carl,
I don’t like his politics but I am offended by some of the ‘Christian’ but clearly politically motivated statements made against him.
I am particularly bothered by those who insist that he is really a closet Muslim.
If folks don’t like what he is doing it is probably a good idea to pray for him it can only help both you and him.
