This is a picture of the new Spiderman.  They say his name is Miles Morales.  I think it is a picture of a young Ron Pierre.

Tell me what you think.

There is a bit of a work around for Google plus invites.  You need someone who is in Google plus to add you to a circle.

I would like to send an invite to pastors and ministry friends.

If you want to be added go ahead and leave a comment  and I will get you an invite.

Just tell me what category you fall in.

Friday Flashback – New Testament Ministry

June 10th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Misc

Back in October of 2009 I talked about what it means to minster in the era of the New Testament.

So I found my message almost complete at 20 minutes I was a little concerned. However I soon realized that that was God’s plan. He wanted me to preach for a little and minister for a while. He did not want another service based on the intellect; he wanted to minister to the hearts of people.

Friday Flashback: Michael Jackson and Oral Roberts

June 3rd, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Misc

In December of 2009 I thought a little about the passing of Michael Jackson and Oral Roberts.  Both traveled the world.  Both left legacies.  The comparisons end there.

Michael Jackson and Oral Roberts

Why did they have to keep bringing up the negatives?  Because Christians can’t imagine someone they don’t fully agree with getting any love from the world.  Every single article I have read gives a quote from a Christian minister detailing their offense as if the New York Times or Washington Post was interested in doctrinal purity.  No, they are interested in seeing Christians slandering other Christians so they can help them secure their trip to hell.

Enjoy.

My Iron Clad Prediction about Tonight’s Miami Heat Finals Game

May 31st, 2011 | 1 Comment | Posted in Misc

Most folks are scared to go on record about games.  Not me.  If the Heat do not win the Finals, they still would have accomplished a lot just making it to the finals the first year together.

But that is not any excuse for what I am about to write.

I predict that tonight at the end of the game…I will already be asleep.

I have not felt well and on top of that I rarely get to watch these types of games.  Those two together make me pretty sure I will already be knocked out.

Mark me down for that!

Friday Flashback: Vision

May 27th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Misc

Back in July of 2009 I wrote a little about Vision

Jacob received a vision from God in the middle of nowhere and it guided his life.  That work stands to this day.  This pattern is repeated throughout Scripture.  God speaks to man.  Man gets involved in what God has revealed.  The Kingdom goes forth.

Go read it here.

Tuesday Tech Thoughts

May 24th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in Misc

I have a handful of tech items I am going over right now.  Let me know if you have any thoughts on any of there:

  • Rooting the EVO:  From what I understand, I can root without changing the Sense UI. I think I want to do this but am not sure why.  This leads to these questions. 1) Will I really save battery power if I root?  2) Is there any other advantage?  3) Do I want to root and flash the ROM?  4) Whats the easiest way?
  • I am going to go paperless in my office.  Michael Hyatt has a series of posts on using Evernote to do this.  While I love evernote, I will use my network to store most office files.  But now I am looking for a decent all in one printer / scanner / copier with an ADF to replace a Canon D320 which I hate.  Yes I used that word.  The drivers for this thing are terrible.
  • I am absolutely torn on a shoot and share camera.  I am no closer to making a decision than I was when I posted this.  Any thoughts?  I want it under $150.  Closer to $100 the better.  Any first hand reviews?

    Shoot and Share Video Camera

    May 18th, 2011 | 5 Comments | Posted in Misc

I have an old school Flip that I won a handful of years ago. I want to replace it but am having a hard time making a decision.

The field of shoot and share camcorders is pretty crowded with mediocrity but I had come down to two cameras that both have significant drawbacks.

    1.  The flip mino hd I like the flip cameras.  I know they aren’t going to make them anymore but that really does not matter how the camera works.  They are good in low light and can take AA batteries.  The major downsides are that they do not have expandable memory.  What’s onboard is all you get.  And they consume batteries.  On mine I pretty much get an hour for two AAs.  Couple that with the fact it can only record at 720p and it just seems a little out dated.

    2.  The Kodak Zi8 I was originally interested in the Kodak Playsport Zx3 for a bunch of reasons but it has so many bad reviews I would have to be a complete fool to ignore them.  The zi8 can take an external mic, is small, records 1080p, and takes a sdhc card up to 32gig.  The major downsides are that the low light filming looks pretty dark.  It has a rounded bottom so you cant let it film by itself without a tripod and it has a ton of really bad reviews.

My HTC EVO takes decent video but the audio is terrible.  I mean terrible.

So do you have any suggestions?  I have heard iPhone but that is not an option.  Any others?
